The Method of Wind Load Formation in the Group Arrangement of Tanks
Donbas National Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture
Abstract. The article discusses the methods of wind load formation, by clarifying the values of aerodynamic coefficients for previously unexplored structural forms and taking into account the group location. The main approaches to the rationing of the wind load on structures with a circular cylindrical surface were considered and analyzed. Using the example of a vertical cylindrical tank with a volume of 10 thousand m3, the values of aerodynamic coefficients are obtained for a convex spherical roof and a tank wall in a group. Analytical dependencies have been developed for determining wind loads on structural elements (roof, wall) of separate and operated tanks in a group.
Keywords: vertical cylindrical tank, aerodynamic coefficient, wind load, computer simulation.

Comparative Analysis of Solutions for Protection of the Coast of the Sea of Azov by Anchored Vertical Walls of Sheet Pile of Various Designs
Donbas National Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture
Abstract. The article discusses the problem of protection of the coast of the Azov Sea in difficult engineering-geological and hydrological conditions on the example seafront of the boarding house «Volna» in the village Sedovo. The results of a survey in-situ of the existing retaining wall of seafront are presented. The main causes of the violation of its operational suitability are indicated. Several options for strengthening the embankment were proposed and their comparative analysis was made. According to the results of numerical studies, the most suitable shore protection option was chosen.
Keywords: shore protection, sheet piling, retaining walls, difficult geotechnical conditions.

The Method of Engineering Calculations of the Oscillations of the Structure of Rigid Conductors with the Application of New Modes of Damping
Donbas National Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture
Abstract. The problem of reducing the level of vibrations of rigid busbar structures in many cases is associated with the need to increase rigidity and reduce the material consumption of structures, however, it is important to fulfill the technological requirements of the operating conditions and protect people from the harmful effects of vibrations. The article discusses new ways of damping vibrations of rigid busbar structures under the action of the vortex excitation of the wind – «damper on the thread», damper in the form of a rigid insert, spring damper. Mathematical models of joint operation of rigid busbar design with damping devices are given. It has been given theoretical studies of the joint design of rigid busbars with damping devices. New recommendations have been developed that allow the selection of a rational type of damping device and the calculation of the main parameters of an oscillation damper of rigid busbar structures, as well as the conditions for its adjustment and operation.
Keywords: rigid busbar, pipe-tire, open distribution devices, vibration damper, damping, wind resonance, vortex excitation of vibrations.

Explosions in the Steel Industry and Their Consequences on the Building Structures of Industrial Buildings
Donbas National Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture
Abstract. Hazards have been identified; the risk of accidents from explosions during electric steelmaking metal production has been evaluated. A detailed analysis of the causes of the explosion in the electric furnace, the consequences of its impact on building structures, taking into account the space-planning solution of the workshop building, is given. A specific example shows the results of the influence of the blast wave from an explosion in an electric arc furnace on the bearing and enclosing building structures of a building. Constructive solutions for the restoration of damaged structures and measures to minimize possible man-made emergency situations such as explosions are proposed. It has been established that in order to study the intensity of the blast wave effect on building structures and make sound design decisions to reduce its influence in the room of all spans of the workshop, it is necessary to install automatic sensors that record the levels of air pressure during periodic explosions when the furnace is loaded.
