The Application of Dynamic Damper in the Beam Type Structures of Public Building

Abstract. The paper deals with the option vibrations damping of steel girders decorative elements of the main entrance of public buildings that are subjected to the effects of eddy excitation of vibrations in the wind flow. The full-scale dynamic tests of structures have been described, in which their main dynamic characteristics have been identified. The analysis of test results showed the necessity of installing additional devices (dampers) to decrease the vibration amplitude at the resonant mode. The calculation, which takes into account the combined effect of the girder and damper, to determine the optimal parameters of dynamic damper of vibrations has been made. The plate dampers of vibrations have been made and erected on the construction. The full-scale dynamic tests of constructional operation with vibration dampers and without in order to obtain a piece of information of application efficacy of plate dampers have been carried out.

Effect of Differential Movements of Foundations on Behavior of Lattice Towers Supporting Chimney

Abstract. The effect of ground deformation on stresses and strains in steelworks is dealt with in the paper. The steelworks include lattice towers for supporting steel chimney. The deformations of ground are modeled by inducing differential movements of a separate foundation in vertical and horizontal planes. The internal forces in tower members due to movement are calculated. The most widespread types of towers of 115 and 140 m high supporting exhaust pipes and chimneys and having square and triangular layouts with individual foundations are adopted as the object for research. The calculation model of the towers is a space truss. The qualitative parameters for the influence of uneven soil deformations on normal forces into the tower members are obtained and analyzed. On the basis of numerical data received the simple model are proposed for calculating additional forces arising in the elements for towers up to 150 m high. The technique of applying the model for towers designed under different wind conditions is outlined.

Influence of Geometric Parameters on the Stress-Strain State of Structural Roof on a Rectangular Plan

Abstract. The article deals with the additional features overlapping rectangular span roofs with non-standard aspect ratio with the help of the structural type of the MARCHI system. The results of the analysis features of constructive solutions, examples of use, basic calculation methods, the requirements of domestic and foreign regulatory documents on their design and construction have been given. Based on the results of the analysis the issue it has been highlighted the problems arising in the design of structural designs on non-standard plans. To the study of atypical aspect ratio of the structural coverage in terms of (the aspect ratio a / b) and appropriate approaches to ensure that the regulation of the stress-strain state of structural system by varying the basic geometric parameters of the study design have been suggested. It has been considered and taken into account the factor of the impact of various snow load value on the stress-strain state of the roof, set the overall patterns of change in the stress-strain roof status on a rectangular non-standard terms (with the ratio of the lengths of the sides 1 / 1.6…
1 / 2.4), depending on the changes proposed by the geometrical and other important design parameters.

Comparison of Efficiency of LIRA 9.6 and SAP2000 Program Complexes in the Dynamic Calculation of High-Rise Object

Abstract. The issue of comparison of two finite-element computing complexes: Lira-CAD version 9.6 and SAP2000 version 14.1 is discussed in the article. As investigated structures for comparing the cantilever struts of different cross-section were taken in the first stage, and the spatial latticed steel tower of 180 m height in the second stage. The models of mentioned above structures were built in both programs. The dynamic calculation of models on action of sinusoidal load of 1 kN was performed and parameters of the stress-strain state of structures to be compared: the displacements of upper joints and efforts in support sections of the structures were obtained. A comparative analysis of parameters obtained by calculation in both programs was performed and the percentage of comparability of the values of these parameters was determined.
